Entry doors are our largest category and where our showroom design experience really shines. A front door is the exterior door everyone sees first, so it is worth getting right. We'll help you weigh material, style, glass, and finish, then place options on a photo of your house so you can see the result before you commit.
Therma-Tru. Fiberglass & Steel
Our primary entry-door supplier. Fiberglass (Classic Craft, Smooth-Star, Fiber-Classic) and steel (Profiles, Traditions). Ask to see the vented sidelights: the sidelights open for air, so you can skip the storm door.
Keep the door style on the outside, skip the storm door, and still get airflow. Vented sidelights do that.

Worth seeing in person
A picture only tells you so much. These are the doors our customers come in to touch, feel, and see before they buy. Both are built to order: bring a photo or a sketch and we will make it.
Wood. Signature & Simpson
Signature all-mahogany: sapele, a full two and a quarter inches thick on an LVL core with a quarter-inch mahogany veneer. The beast of wood doors: heavier and straighter than a standard wood door, and it stays put. Traditional custom wood from Simpson.
With wood, if you can draw it on a napkin, we can make it.

Two and a half inches thick with a thermal break. Build it to any size (we have done four feet by ten), pivot styles, and venting glass with a screen behind it. A great fit where a tough exposure is hard on a wood door. Customers touch it and say it feels like a Ferrari.
In Michigan, a wrought iron door that is not thermally broken will frost up. Every one we sell is.

Fiberglass, steel, wood, or iron
Every one of these makes a good front door. The right pick comes down to the look you want and how much upkeep you want to do. Here is how we talk it through with people in the showroom.
Fiberglass
The one most people land on. It can be made to look like real wood grain, it holds up to Michigan winters, and it does not rot, warp, or need refinishing. A strong all-around choice.
Steel
The budget-friendly, security-first pick. Strong and low cost, though it can dent and it shows wear sooner than fiberglass. A solid choice for a door that is not in direct weather.
Real wood
Nothing looks quite like real mahogany or oak. It is the richest look you can get. It asks for the most upkeep in return, since it needs refinishing over time to keep it looking right.
Wrought iron
The statement door. Iron and glass that makes an entry look custom and lets light in while staying secure. Heavier and more of an investment, and worth it when you want the house to stop people on the street.
