Warmth and character, built to last.
Premium factory-finished or fully custom real-wood entry doors, matched to your home and installed right.
Signature Door. Premium
Our preferred premium wood supplier. Factory finishing means a higher-end turnkey product, less maintenance, and better long-term durability.
Simpson Door Company. Custom
Traditional custom wood doors. Typically field-finished, with additional maintenance, beautiful, authentic craftsmanship.
Signature Door, our premium wood line
The wood door we use most is Signature Door. All sapele mahogany, two and a quarter inches thick. What makes it different from most wood doors is the core: a full LVL (laminated veneer lumber) core with quarter inch mahogany veneer on top. That is why it does not warp the way a solid-plank door can. Brad calls it the beast of the wood doors.
If you draw it on a napkin, we can make it. The door on our showroom floor is 42 inches wide. Round tops, gothic arches, doors as wide or as tall as you want. Signature offers six standard stain colors and a few paint colors, and we can match any stain or paint you bring in. We can also build a custom wood storm door to go in front of it.
Where it fits best: older homes and historic neighborhoods, houses that are 100 years old. You feel the weight when you open it. Simpson is our option when you want a traditional custom wood door that gets finished in the field.

Common questions
Will a wood door warp?
A solid-plank door can. Signature builds on an LVL core with a mahogany veneer, which is far more stable. That core is the reason we chose them.
Can I get a custom size or shape?
Yes. Round top, gothic, extra wide, extra tall. Draw it on a napkin and we can make it.
Do wood doors need more maintenance?
Field-finished wood doors need periodic refinishing. Signature's factory-finished doors reduce that upkeep considerably, we'll explain the trade-offs.
